How to automate video batches with AI Nerdy Workflows
By AI Nerdy · Updated · 4 min read
AI Nerdy Workflows save a video recipe so you can process uploaded clips with consistent script, voice and caption settings. You configure the recipe once and reuse it for a batch. Workflows process footage you supply; they do not automatically publish videos to social platforms or generate new scenes from a prompt.
When should you use Workflows instead of Create?
Use Create for a one-off video or when you want to make fresh choices for each clip. Use Workflows when a group of clips needs the same treatment, such as a series of product demonstrations with one writing style, narrator and caption look.
A saved recipe removes repeated setup, but it does not make unrelated clips interchangeable. Separate workflows are useful when your content needs different languages, voices or editorial rules. Name each recipe by the result you want, not simply Workflow 1.
How do you set up your first video workflow?
Have one representative clip ready before configuring a large batch. It gives you a concrete way to check the choices you are saving.
- Open Workflows and choose New workflow. Give the recipe a recognisable name.
- Choose the creation mode: full script, voiceover from your script, or captions for footage that already contains speech.
- Select the writing niche or available formula, output language and voice where the mode requires them.
- Choose the caption appearance and relevant audio settings, then save the recipe.
- Open the board, check whether processing is paused and add a test clip before the rest of the batch.
What should you check before adding all your clips?
Adding clips to an active workflow queues them for processing. Use Pause before uploading if you want to hold the queue while reviewing the recipe. Resume when you are ready. A sample frame used for caption placement is not a finished-video generation request.
Review the test output from beginning to end. Check that the narration matches the footage, the voice is available and appropriate, and the captions are readable where important details appear. If you selected a clone, test that voice before relying on it for a batch.
Check the approximate duration as well. A clip with more material can require a different pace even when the subject is similar. Adjust the recipe or split the batch when one set of instructions cannot reasonably fit the clips you have chosen.
How do you review results and handle a failed clip?
Follow each clip’s status on the workflow board. Preview a completed output before downloading it. Pay particular attention to names, claims and caption timing; a batch is still a collection of individual videos that need to make sense.
If a clip fails, read its error and correct the cause before retrying it. If the selected voice or formula is unavailable, select an available replacement. Retrying with the same unavailable selection can produce the same error again.
Changing the recipe affects future processing. It does not rewrite videos you have already downloaded. Keep your source clips until you have reviewed and saved the outputs you intend to use.
Does automation change the Nerdium cost?
Saving a recipe does not make generation free. Processing uses your account’s allowance, and plan limits determine how many workflow videos can run at once. Check the current pricing page before estimating the cost of a batch.
Begin with a small, representative group and expand after its results are useful. Reusing a sound recipe can save setup time; processing a large batch with the wrong voice or writing rules can create more review work than it saves.
Frequently asked questions
Do Workflows post videos automatically?
No. Workflows process uploaded footage into outputs you can review and download. They do not automatically publish those videos to social platforms.
Can I use my own Script Lab formula in a workflow?
Yes, when your account has access and the formula is available. Select it in the recipe and test a clip before processing a batch.
Will changing my workflow update a video I already downloaded?
No. Recipe changes affect future processing; a downloaded video is not rewritten automatically.
